My first exchange was an one hour of life coaching with David Bilby. I gained insight and became more confident that I was on a good path. The benefits from hOur IMPACT include: getting help when you need it, having opportunities to serve others, expanding your world by learning new skills, making friends, and being engaged and active in the community.
I delivered someone to the airport one morning. I live so close by the airport, it really was not an inconvenience at all. I had a delightful conversation with the woman I took to the airport. There was a little bit of traffic, but we didn't notice because we were chatting away.
I've had two hOur IMPACT time credit experiences. One was a language exchange where we emailed back and forth to practice our Spanish for a little bit. I love to practice languages and it was nice to make that connection. I also have come close to exchanging a ride to the airport, but our timing didn't work out this time.
The hOur Impact time bank program makes it easy to find others that need a hand, or find help for yourself, when needed. People helping people builds stronger communities, and that is what makes Clark County a great place to live.
I was able to hem a few pairs of pants for someone in our community that I would never have met if it hadn't been for the Hour Impact time bank program. As I had time over the next few weeks, I hemmed several pairs of new pants for her. I was able to work on my own time. I love that it's not a long term volunteer commitment to a specific time slot. Working individually with someone for one specific task means I can schedule what works for me. It's a flexible way to contribute to my community. I also enjoy reading what new members have to offer even if I don't happen to need their services right away. You've got someone to turn to if you should find yourself needing one of their services in the future. So it's like having a lot of unique skills in your back pocket!
